Books you are currently reading or your favorite books?
Ok, I have to be honest I am not a huge fan of reading. I know that is a terrible confession from someone who writes books! I guess reading books is a little like work to me but I always love reading with my kids who both adore books. I am currently reading a book called Scary Close by Donald Miller, but my all time favorite book that you will always find my head buried in is my Bible.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Wow, that’s hard! I have been given so many great pieces of advice along the way. I believe wisdom is something you should seek out all the time and each piece of wisdom is often made more significant because of the timing with which it arrives in your life. I guess one of my favorite mottoes to live by is ‘kindness matters’. In our every increasing busyness and over extended schedules we can forget that everything we do should reflect ‘whose’ we are. A little bit of kindness goes a long way and the more kindness we can add to our lives, the more those around us will be impacted. I think doing a good job is commendable, but enabling people to see and feel the good is even better.
What is the scariest thing you’ve ever done?
A few years ago my kids decided to volunteer me as the willing assistant to a guy’s reptile show, knowing full well I hate snakes! I was then told in front of a huge audience to wear a blindfold as the reptile man proceeded to place various creatures on me. On the final huge gasp from the audience I knew whatever was coming was not good, and as a massive boa constrictor was wrapped around me I would say I was pretty scared! But I won major points at the end from my cheeky children.
What’s currently on repeat in your car?
My hubby makes me a CD with all my favorite worship songs, so that is what I have on repeat at the moment. Oh and of course you can always find Taylor Swift in my car too… shake it off baby!!!
